THE MEMORIAL OF NADEZDA PETROVIC - the first exhibition of paintings Cacak, September 1960 (forty years later)
When the work on the reconstruction of the exhibition of the First Memorial of Nadezda Petrovic began, due to the reduced geographical area of Yugoslavia, it was obvious that it was almost impossible to reach all the paintings from the original display.
That’s why this exhibition in the repeated edition may not offer such a monumantal-representative features that it had forty years ago, but it can cowure it up for us to the greatest possible extent.
Besides all the troubles that always follow the work of such a character, we succeeded in having the paintings exhibited at the first display found for most of the painters, exactly for 18 of them (one, two or three paintings for each).
The following painters took part with 44 works: Bosko Risimovic - Risim, Djordje Andrejevic - Kun, Zora Petrovic, Zoran Petrovic, Ivan Tabakovic, Jovan Bijelic, Lazar Vozarevic, Lazar Vujaklija, Marko Celebonovic, Milan Konjovic, Milo Milunovic, Miodrag B. Protic, Mladen Srbinovic, Nedeljko Gvozdenovic, Petar Lubarda, Predrag Milosavljevic, Stojan Aralica i Stojan Celic.
For the other pinters (Bijelic, Gvozdenovic, Milosavljevic, Vujaklija) we provided the paintings which, in the best way, can substitute the ones from the 1960 display (the year of painting, theme, style).
The aims and tasks of The Memorial of Nadezda Petrovic are:
